I knew before striking the first key on the keypad that this experience would be different in many ways. A new continent, a new country (or two or three), a travel companion…

Ok, let me start again.

Alicia and I are off on another adventure. I will attempt to blog daily as I’ve done before, but this time will be, indeed, different in many ways.

My previous blogging experiences were completely unique adventures, mainly because they were solo events. Every decision, every preparation (or lack thereof) resulted in experiences that I was 100% responsible for. If you would like to visit/revisit those blogs, they can be found at:

This time Alicia and I both have input. We have jointly decided to take our first cruise, to have a travel agent make most of the major arrangements for us (Thank you Tahni, for all that you have done) and to walk, hand-in-hand, into a new culture - that of an ocean cruising duo in a strange land(s), unable to speak the language(s), unfamiliar with the monetary system(s), and traveling with several hundred other people, most of whom, presumably, have done this type of thing before, and some of whom may end up being our new friends!

The adventure begins on Saturday, March 22nd. Our plane leaves Boise International Airport, heading southeast to Atlanta, then on to Buenos Aires, Argentina. From there, we hopscotch up the east coast of South America to Rio de Janeiro. If all goes well, we will be arriving back in Boise on April 7th.

If you’d like to follow us on our journey I imagine there is a button around here somewhere to allow you to do just that!
